Linear regulator APL5930KAI-TRG (SOP-8)

The APL5930 is a linear regulator with an ultra-low 3A output current. The IC requires two supply voltages, one is the control voltage (VCNTL) for the control circuit and the other is the main supply voltage (VIN) for power conversion to reduce power dissipation and provide extremely low voltage dropout. APL5930 integrates many functions. The Power-On-Reset (POR) circuit monitors both supply voltages at the VCNTL and VIN pins to prevent erroneous operations. Thermal shutdown and current limiting functions protect the device from thermal and current overloads. APOK shows the output voltage status with internal delay. It can control other power converters. The APL5930 can be powered by other power systems. Falling and maintaining the EN voltage below 0.4 V turns off the output. The APL5930 is available in the SOP-8P package, which has a small footprint like the SOP-8 and an open pad to reduce junction resistance to the package to expand the power range of the devices.
